Mechanicsburg Place

Open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, Mechanicsburg Place: A Senior Center & More is a friendly community gathering place for everyone 55+, located at 97 West Portland Street in downtown Mechanicsburg. Connect with others over coffee or lunch, volunteer, enjoy wellness programs, go on cultural excursions, take computer classes, learn how to line dance, play cards, join a book club, sing in the chorus, join a pool league, and much more!

Mechanicsburg Place is a program of Messiah Lifeways and is supported, in part, by a grant from the Cumberland County Office of Aging and Community Services, the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, and the US Department of Health and Human Services Administration on Aging.

Anyone 60 or older may participate in center activities for free, except when fees are specifically noted. You can also choose to have a Supporting Membership, which provides vital support for the ongoing operation of the center.

If you are unable to drive or do not wish to, free buses are available to and from the center through the Cumberland County Transportation Department. To schedule transportation, call their office at 1.800.315.2546.

Nutritionally-balanced meals are provided by the Cumberland County Office of Aging (CCOA) each day at 11:30 am. A secure box is available for optional donations to CCOA to help cover the cost of food preparation and allow more people to enjoy meals. 24-hour notice is required to reserve an a.m. meal.

From Tai Chi and line-dancing, to computer classes, games, book clubs, and card clubs, there is something for everyone.
