COVID-19 Masking Update:

2.14.24 Village Center Masking Guidelines

Effective immediately (as of 2/14/24), masks are highly encouraged in Village Center neighborhoods, regardless of vaccination status. Currently, masking is not required in hallways or other common areas outside of neighborhoods.

Please know that we take changes to our masking requirements very seriously, as it is our utmost responsibility to keep our campus, and vulnerable residents, healthy and safe. See more details below.

Masking Requirements for Village Center are as follows:

  • Procedure masks are required for all team members, vendors, and volunteers working in direct contact with and in neighborhoods in Village Center. Visitors are strongly encouraged to wear procedure masks while visiting Village Center neighborhoods.
  • N95 masks and eye protection are required for team members and volunteers who are working in an outbreak neighborhood. Vendors working directly with residents should also wear an N95 mask and eye protection, while other vendors can wear procedure masks.

You do not need to wear a mask in Village Commons or Village Square. We are also encouraging social distancing in instances when masks cannot be worn (like eating).

We are still asking that if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and/or have been exposed to someone within the last 10 days, to strongly consider not entering our facilities.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.

**Do Not Visit if you are having any of the following symptoms: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and/or diarrhea. We appreciate your continued efforts to help protect our community. If you have COVID-19 questions, please reach out to our Infection Preventionist, Corinne Miller, at 717-697-4666 ext. 6808.

Current Infection Control Procedures

In keeping with Messiah Lifeways’ commitment to providing the highest level of care for residents, we would like to reassure you that we are continuing to follow guidelines from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare (CMS), the PA Department of Health and the CDC, as well as working closely with our consulting physicians to maintain infection control best practices. The following mitigation efforts continue to be in place until further notice:

  • All team members and visitors are screened for symptoms of illness and exposure risks daily.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for all team members, and masks continue to be required for everyone in Village Center, including visitors.
  • Messiah Village team members who have been approved for a vaccine exemption or are not up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccinations are tested regularly, as well as all team members and residents are tested with any onset of symptoms and those who’ve been exposed in accordance with guidance from the PA Department of Health and CMS.
