Nursing Memory Care

Within nursing care Messiah Village offers a secure neighborhood with specialized services for those with Alzheimer’s and other neuro-cognitive diagnoses coupled with chronic health issues. The safe and secure environment promotes individuality and dignity, with group and individualized activities that maximize independence and provide stimulation. Various opportunities are offered to promote spiritual, emotional, and physical wellness including music, cooking, intergenerational groups, exercise groups, music therapy, and special interest programs.

Music Therapy Program

In 2018, Messiah Lifeways at Messiah Village introduced a powerful music therapy program to the memory care neighborhood. The program brings a board-certified music therapist to the skilled nursing neighborhoods to offer personalized, clinical service to improve outcomes, behaviors, and holistic wellness for residents. While Messiah Village has a rich legacy of using and appreciating music in clinical and social settings, the program marks a considerable turning point in our therapeutic approaches. This formalized adult music therapy program takes music beyond art form and entertainment and helps residents creatively express their memories and feelings.

Enhanced Living Memory Care

This program is licensed as Personal Care and is especially designed for individuals with Alzheimer’s and other types of cognitive and memory impairment. It provides a secure environment including more assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and grooming, housekeeping, personal laundry service, and medication monitoring. Verbal cueing, redirection, and behavioral intervention are also provided. Memory support services in Enhanced Living offer a comprehensive activity program to promote spiritual, emotional, and physical wellness.
