We are grateful for all the good accomplished in 2018 through the Messiah Lifeways network of senior services. More than 3,000 persons were served in some way – from adult day clients in Carlisle to fitness enthusiasts enjoying membership in the Center for Vitality & Wellness. Our mission was lived out in many ways; and you – our residents, clients, members, donors, volunteers, team members, vendors, and friends – you always take a leading role in our organizational story.
Speaking of stories, I’ll share my connection to the Messiah Lifeways mission. As a young pastor’s wife, my husband Dale and I brought our children to Messiah Village in the 1970’s and 1980’s to visit with residents, some of whom were our parishioners from the Crossroads BIC Church in Mount Joy. During our visits, our daughter played her oboe, although somewhat reluctantly! During those years, we lived in the parsonage across from Mount Joy Country Homes so we also became very familiar with many of those residents. My Messiah Lifeways story is one of belonging – belonging to a community where you are respected, appreciated, celebrated & above all, able to live life to the fullest as you journey through life.
I am honored to now serve as the chair of a board whose chief aim is to help this ministry flourish in mission-driven ways. On behalf of my dedicated board colleagues, I hope you are both inspired and encouraged as you review the happenings of the past fiscal year – and may you know how deeply we appreciate your partnership. Thank you for adding to our story and ensuring that our mission, vision, and values endure for many generations to come.
