Senior Center and More

Branch Creek Place is a friendly Shippensburg Senior Community Center located in the heart of Shippensburg. Members can connect over lunch or during the Breakfast Club, volunteer, enjoy wellness programs, go on cultural excursions, take computer classes, learn how to line dance, play cards, join a book club, and much more!

Branch Creek Place: A Senior Center and More is a program of Messiah Lifeways and is supported, in part, by a grant from the Cumberland County Office of Aging and Community Services, the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration on Aging.

Lunches

Nutritionally-balanced meals at this senior center in Shippensburg are provided by the Cumberland County Office of Aging (CCOA) each day at 11:00 am. A secure box is available for optional donations to CCOA to help cover the cost of food preparation and allow more people to enjoy meals. 24-hour notice is required to reserve a meal.

Activity and Enrichment

From Tai Chi and line dancing, to computer classes, games, quilting, book clubs, and card clubs, there is something for everyone.

What does it cost to join Branch Creek Place?

 

You can choose to pay a supporting membership fee of $20 per year, which provides vital support for the ongoing operation of the center. However, anyone 50+ may participate in center activities without cost, except where fees are specifically noted.

 
 

Do I have to live in Shippensburg to join Branch Creek Place?

 

No, you do not have to reside in Shippensburg, or even Cumberland County, to be a member of Branch Creek Place.

 
 

I am unable to drive. Is there transportation available to Branch Creek Place?

 

If you are unable to drive or do not wish to, free buses are available to and from the center through rabbitransit. To schedule transportation, call their office at 1.800.632.9063, or call Branch Creek Place at 717.263.2153. The Franklin County Transportation Department can also provide rides for those who qualify, for a minimum fee.
